In this project, I embarked on a significant endeavor to produce an impactful and informative 30-minute training video dedicated to the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS). The GMDSS plays a crucial role in maritime safety, and it was paramount to communicate its importance effectively. The target audience comprised maritime employees and individuals working on vessels. The project aimed to educate, equip, and empower these individuals with the knowledge of GMDSS protocols and equipment, ultimately contributing to the safety of lives at sea.

My Role

Content Immersion: I delved deeply into comprehending the intricacies of the GMDSS, ensuring a strong grasp of the equipment, protocols, and safety measures vital to maritime emergencies.
Asset Collection: I meticulously curated custom footage, stock video clips, and 2D/3D illustrations to illustrate the GMDSS components and procedures. This included a strategic selection process to align visuals with the instructional content.
Narrator Integration: I employed a green-screen narrator whose presence was composited into studio, on-board, and graphic backgrounds. The narrator treatment varied to sustain engagement and enhance impact throughout the training.
Design and Graphics: I established a thematic design direction, incorporating visually appealing titles, motion graphics, and illustrations to enhance comprehension and maintain learners' focus.
Asset Management: With a plethora of high-definition assets, I employed meticulous asset management to ensure a seamless production process and polished integration of visuals.
Video Production: I utilized a blend of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, and Premiere to seamlessly bring together stock video, illustrations, and green-screen elements into a 30-minute training video.
Narration and Music Fusion: I harmonized narration and music across the production to augment viewer engagement and elevate the training's effectiveness.
Deliverables: I produced a full-length training video and modular lessons, providing versatile learning resources for different settings and timeframes.
